This series consists of war crimes trial records and exhibits, records of pre-trial investigations, petitions for review and clemency, records relating to the implementation of sentences, and other records relating to cases tried before U.S. Army military government courts. Included are case files for Buchenwald, Dachau, Flossenberg, Mauthausen, and Nordhausen concentration camp cases; an unnumbered case file pertaining to the case of Hans Bitz who was tried and convicted by a U.S. military commission in Naples, Italy; and "Nanking Case Files" (unnumbered) which concern twenty-seven German nationals tried in Shanghai, China, by a U.S. military commission appointed by the Commanding General, Nanking Headquarters Command.
